No Easy Way (Out) - by Digital Daggers

Digital Daggers based out of LA, CA.  They started in 2010, and they are an 'alt-pop' duo comprised of Andrea Wasse (singer for The Weekend; born in London, Ontario, by the way…) & Space (guitarist for Memento).  They were brought together by the Creative VP at EMI Music Publishing.  They've had multiple songs in multiple spots including for the TV shows The Vampire Diaries, and Nikita; the movie The Roommate; and the trailer for the video game Crysis 2.  This song is from their first (& only, thus far) EP, "Human Emotion EP", released Dec. 21st, 2010.

Miles Away - by Ocean is Theory

Awesome indie post-[something] rock.

Ocean is Theory is based out of Atlanta, GA.  They formed in 2007 & independently released 2 EP's: "Into the Mouths of Lions" (released May 2nd, 2008) & then "In My Blood Again" (released Sept. 29th, 2009).   They signed on with Razor & Tie Entertainment around the early middle of 2010.  This song is from their EP, "In My Blood Again".

Horizon Rainfall - by Future of Forestry

FoF had its roots from a band called Something Like Silas who started in 2000.  After there were only 2 original members remaining after some line-up changes, they decided to rechristen themselves as Future of Forestry in 2006; they signed up with Credential Records at the same time.  The name comes from C.S. Lewis' poem called "The Future of Forestry".  Since then, they've had music in "Grey's Anatomy" &  MTV's "Sixteen and Pregnant".  They've released 6 EP's (including 2 Christmas EP's) & 1 LP.  Of these EP's, there was a set of 3 - the "Travel" trilogy.  This song is from "Trilogy III", released June 29th, 2010.

My Little Nightmare - by Kids in the Way

I must say that I do look forward to what they've got coming…

KITW is based out of Indianapolis, IN.  The formed in 1997 as Serenity, but changed their name sometime before 2002, when they had their self titled independent debut EP release.  They signed to Flicker Records shortly after & released an LP, Dec. 26th, 2003 ("Safe from the Losing Fight").  Their next LP was "Apparitions of Melody", & shortly before the release of their 2007 LP "A Love Hate Masquerade", they announced they were breaking up.  It was quiet (not intentionally, just kinda worked that way…).  But, in 2009, they announced they were getting back together, then released an EP in March 2010 & did some touring.  There's supposed to be an album coming out this spring; can't wait to see what it holds…  This song is from "A Love Hate Masquerade" released Sept. 18th, 2007.

Mrs. Vandebilt - by Paul McCartney & Wings

If I could like this like I do on Facebook, I would.  :P

Paul McCartney & Wings (or just simply, Wings) formed in 1971 after The Beatles broke up in '70.  This 'project' started with McCartney's 3rd post-Beatles release, "Wild Life"; it was under the name Wings, & they were McCartney & his wife, Linda; drummer Danny Seiwell; & guitarists Hugh McCracken & David Spinozza, & they kept this line-up until '74.  In that time, they released two more albums; & in '72, they made the theme song for the James Bond movie  "Live & Let Die" (the song was produced by George Martin - The Beatles' producer for a number of their records including Sgt. Pepper's).  Their first US hit was "My Love" from the '73 album "Red Rose Speedway" & it made it to #1.  They broke up as a band in 1981, a few years after another line-up change & more #1 hits.  This song is from their '73 "Band on the Run".

Come Thou Fount of Ev'ry Blessing - as performed by Mosquito Fleet

Excellently done.

Mosquito Fleet is based out of Marion, IN.  Their name comes from the actual term 'mosquito fleet' - its use began in the war of 1812, says Wikipedia & has been used in many cases since.  But the instance they're looking at is from the World War II - I'll post the what they said (it's their bio on their MySpace) under all of this…  They've had 2 releases - their first: an LP: "All Those Who Wander Are Not Lost", released March 23rd, 2010; & they put out their 2nd release "Swings & Cloves EP" on Jan. 11th, 2011.

& for a tiny bit of background on the song: it was written by Robert Robinson in 1757 when he was 22 years old.

Seatbelt Hands - by Listener

Basically indie-rock talk music.

Listener is based out of Atlanta, GA & is composed originally of Dan Smith (Deepspace 5) but then had the addition of Christin Nelson (possibly Chris Nelson & Kristen Smith, by the sounds of it, according to at least one site…).  Dan's been going at this for around 8 years, & has released 5 LP's & a couple of EP's (including a Christmas one).  The latest is "Wooden Heart", released July 6th, 2010 (& that's where this song is from).
