Hey; so... long time no... ummm... talk?
I know I've been pretty quiet (& by that, I mean absolutely quiet) on here as I've been super busy with projects (& I'm actually pushing one back a few minutes to address you guys! Yay! [all three of my 'subscribers' & the random people who still drift around on Blogspot; haha]).
Anyways....
I still want to use this. That said, I'm thinking I may start up a couple of things.
1) What I'll likely call "7 Questions". A quick, 7 question interview (over the internet) with a band that I can contact. Perhaps monthly if I have time.
2) Potentially some reviews. (or at least address music that I find that is of interest, unless/until bands/artists/acts/etc. start sending me pieces to review).
3) Hopefully bi-weekly to monthly recommendations on what you can find available to download for free (or FREE, or available-for-a-price-that-is-not-monetary [the latter perhaps a better way of viewing the topic; lol]). I was hoping to be doing this as is, but as mentioned, I've been super busy.
We'll see what happens. That's kind of the tentative plan as of the end of exams which are fast approaching. I'll admit, I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep it going beyond September, as I'll be back for another year of school. But, I definitely want to keep this going, so I'll still pick it up after the busy spell again.
Hopefully people are interested in what I do. If you are, feel free to interact. I don't bite. or type with CAPS LOCK on.

Update (a blog-like post + a word for the day)
So, I've been slack in doing this Song of the DAY thing, & as such, I think I'm going to hold off on doing the research that I've been doing for these (well, not so much the ones in the past while). I may provide some links, but I've to re-prioritize some things, & this doesn't quite top finding a job or starting a business. That said, some of these posts may be later (possibly midnight on some nights), too, because I still want to do this daily, but don't always have time before 10pm.
Aside from that: I may have something kinda exciting to do with this blog within the next couple months that'll happen every now & again. Stay tuned - it's gonna happen.
Otherwise: I feel I should perhaps make this more of a typical blog, & perhaps I will with some songs. We shall see.
That said: I've been going through some stress lately, but it's somewhat the exciting kind & it's leading to some good stuff to come. & lately I've also been getting more & more inspired in a few different ways, including simply just being a better person & sharing [God's] love a little bit more. Which is good.
& as addressed with the title, I have a word that I'd like to throw out there for today. Literally: a word.
'Circadian'.
It's a cool word. It's also a song by Falling Up from their latest release "Your Sparkling Death Cometh". But it's a cool word. "(of biological processes) Recurring naturally on a twenty-four-hour cycle, even in the absence of light fluctuations".
Why is it interesting to me aside from the fact that it sounds cool & it's a Falling Up song? Well, the concept of having a routine & regime sounds nice to me, & seeing as I need to work on/practice some things, it sounds like a good idea to find a routine. Reminding myself that I need to follow a circadian schedule concerning something - say, songwriting - kinda inspires me to do it.
That starts tonight.

But I hope 'circadian' inspires you a little bit to find something better in your life that'll become part of your 24hr. day, too.

Yllipsis
Hey everyone.
So: I'm in a band (yay!) & I'm going to let you know (yay?). We're called Yllipsis, & we're aiming for kind of an 'epic' sound - epic as in there's epic poetry, & there's epic music. Strings/arrangements, "whoa's", & an assortment of things. For fans of Coldplay, U2, Muse, Radiohead, perhaps Anberlin, & a bunch others (I'm keeping with the bigger names for now. :P ).

Happy thanksgiving! & such
So, I had an interesting thanksgiving, & seeing as I have a blogspot, I thought I'd share something to truly be thankful for.

Simply put.
We had a bit of a scare with a family member & a visit from a couple of friendly paramedics. Thankfully, everyone's alright & alive.

Hey! something that looks more like the stereotypical blog post & not music related!
I've been meaning to post something unrelated to music for sometime, & use this as a typical blog, & I found myself with a link to an article, & a thought from the past weekend.
Just in the past hour, a page I 'like' on Facebook brought me back to Relevant Magazine. I figured I might as well share an article that I found to be an awesome reminder & a bit of an encourager in a way.

& as I mentioned in last night's post, I was away on a retreat to a cottage just a few hours north of where I live - beautiful scenery, including rocks, & trees, & trees, & rocks, & rocks & trees, & trees... & water (see: this song; - the actual song starts at 1:16 & that's the last mention of music in here ;). But amidst all the sights & settings, there was another purpose to being there as well. It was a youth retreat, & the focus was on 'identity'. What really ministered to me is our actual identity, if you're a believer, as Christians. I'm going to snatch the list on Thursday (it's from a book - I'm going to make a copy of the list for myself so I can be reminded) & I'll post a few here within the next week (as I may not have time before Monday/Tues. next week...). It's something I know I need to be more aware of & act upon. Hopefully you'll find it useful, too.
P.S. It's from the book "Stomping out the Darkness" - by Neil T. Anderson & Dave Park.

& I have some bad news...
The Upper Room Bookstore (well, music store to me) in London, On. sent out an e-mail earlier today announcing that they will be closing for good the end of June, this year. Just thought I'd let you know in case you know about it...
This is one of the reasons why I don't like how seemingly everything's going digital (as I myself am more about holding an actual physical product - the point proven by the number of CD's I have... lol)

Something I learned this weekend...
So, as mentioned in my last post, Overflow was awesome/epic/rocked/etc./etc. For those who read this & don't know what Overflow is:
it's a large youth conference in South-Western Ontario; it features one keynote speaker plus others & a number of music acts, & there's also activities (e.g. sports, bouncy castles/games, & more). This year, we had Rich Wilkerson Jr. speak (his uncle was David Wilkerson - founder of Times Square Church in NY & the addiction recovery program Teen Challenge; he passed away just a couple weeks ago, if you weren't aware...). The big music act that was there this year was The Almost (which I'm actually listening to their CD "Monster Monster" right now... just... as some trivia, I guess? lol). I also want to note that To Tell, The Light Division, & a couple of other smaller acts were there (including Alisha Mann, to which I wanted to go see her concert, but didn't get back in time to see that one...). One of the other bands that I want to make note of as well, was ROYAL. Awesome, awesome music. Watch for their new CD out in September (& you can follow them on Twitter @ http://twitter.com/#!/theroyalROYAL ; or Tumblr @ http://theroyalroyal.tumblr.com/)
