I've been in a bit of an indie sort of mood lately as it turns out; & it's been fueled by amazing artists & music such as this. You really should hear the live version Mason Jar Music released of him & their team did earlier this year........ right NOW!
Josh Garrels is from Pontiac, MI, but is now in Portland, OR. & simply put, “Josh Garrels is a lot of things, or has been: son of a hippie commune, skater boy, suburban drug dealer, music/design student, coffee roaster, urban shepherd, & now nation- & globe-trotting minstrel of hope & healing”*. He released his debut “Stone Tree” in 2002, & “Underquiet” in 2003, before starting his own label, Small Voice Recordings on which “Over Oceans” [2006] & all subsequent albums were released; & all his projects are self-recorded, -produced, & -distributed. His latest is “Love & War & The Sea In Between”, released on June 15th, 2011 (& he’s made it available for FREE – links below). This song is from his LP “Jacaranda”, released in 2008.
